Harvey,

Couple of questions and thing to try...

When you connect to the AIX system and go to the ProvideX command line
prompt is the prompt:
A)    ->   or  -:
B)    -}   or  -;
    (if A then the system doesn't think you are running Windx)

What is your TERM= environment variable set to?

Under WINDX if you press ALT-SPACE to bring up the system menu (upper left
corner menu), and select PRINTER SETUP, what printers are available in the
DROP DOWN box?

Try:  OPEN (7) "[wdx]*winprt*"
