Jeff,

Can't you simply set focus to a Multi-line input field which will accept the
card input?  You could specify signal all changes then in the logic simply
check to see if you have recieved the terminating character or have the user
press ENTER or TAB after the swipe (assuming the reader won't do this as a
config option).
