Mike,
Patrick,

I think Patrick is looking for:

SETDEV (chan) PROGRAM "prog_name"

Use the SETDEV PROGRAM directive to define an Embedded I/O program which
will be attached to an open channel if the file does not already have one
associated with it.

Subject: [Pvx] Data Dictionary IO Proc

I have a few data files that I need to have control over with every write.
I need to have this control in one program instead of all over the software.
I know this can be done in Data Dictionary I/O Proc, however, the client has
the ability to make backups and restores, and with each restore, I have to
see if the data files are up to date. If not, I have to run them through
the data dictionary update, and this is taking up to 45 minutes or so on
each.

Is there any other way to have “control” over the write statements of a data
file without the data dictionary I/O Proc?
